I could not put this book down! It's so insightful, and well written, and so real-life. The story line was never predictable and I read each page with surprise and anticipation. Adina is a master word-crafter and draws you into her characters' souls and thoughts, as well as painting the settings with realistic clarity. I cannot believe we have to wait until next year to read THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN. I highly recommend this book, as well as the other books in this series.Product details

This was an exciting story and kept my interest all the way through. I feel others will enjoy this, too, and recommend that they read this.
Excellent first book in what I expect to be an awesome series. Others have provided the story details, so I won't rehash them here, other than to say this is not a mystery as some reviewers imply. This is a clever, well constructed novel.
Waaaay too many unnecessary words. I had to skip paragraph upon paragraph of internal smart- alecky internal chatter by the characters to get to the next sentence of dialogue! I hate when authors do that. Are they just trying to fill pages? Other than that, it is a good story nice plot. Glad the kidnappers are brought to justice in the end.
Very different was glad to see a good mystery! I bought myself getting my personal feelings involved in this book. That is something I don't do very often. I love it when I can't predict the outcome !!!! Great Read!!!
This was a pleasure to read. The storyline is more developed and not as shallow as some of the Amish reads. I hope there are several sequels.
I have been a fan of Amish based fiction for years...have over 200 books in my library. The Longest Road is one of those books you stay up late at night, wanting to read just one more chapter. It is an unusual story and I loved it! There is only one problem I can't even order the next one on yet!!! I hope I can find some way to be alerted when it does come out.
The Longest Road written by Adina Sent is a heartwarming story that caught my interest from the first page. She has described her characters in great detail not only in appearance but in personalities too.
This story involves a large Amish Family who has been dealt a big blow by their two young daughter's being kidnapped. But that wasn't the only story being told in this book. The brother who was watching over the girls feels so much guilt that he over steps boundaries and refuses to join the church.
Who will the girls choose as their family? Will they take back their Amish names. But more to the story will they be accepted back into the Amish community after 13 years with the English? There are several storylines to this book and that makes for a great read. I highly recommend this book to all those who love the Amish genre but also likes a bit of mystery too!

I will be anxious to read the next book to continue the story and see how it plays out. Congratulations to Adina Sent on a wonderfully written book and a great story line.
